What is Tech 4 Tracing?

Tech 4 Tracing (T4T) is an international, non-profit partnership between arms control professionals and new technology experts working to

  • incubate innovative technology platforms for capturing, cataloging, and comparing small arms and light weapons data; and

  • build partnerships with peacekeeping, law enforcement, and human rights investigation communities to enhance and improve their abilities to understand and address illicit arms flows; bring perpetrators of armed violence to justice, and contribute to safer societies.

T4T aims to augment the capabilities of actors involved in arms and ammunition identification and tracing globally, to create easy to use tools to increase the number of actors who could contribute to this field, and to empower qualified actors to disrupt illicit arms and ammunition trafficking and misuse.

Tech 4 Tracing is led by:

  • David Lochhead, Executive Director (david.lochhead@tech4tracing.org)

  • Robert Sim, Director of Research (robert.sim@tech4tracing.org)

  • Emile LeBrun, Director of Programmes (emile.lebrun@tech4tracing.org)

  • Chris Gough, Technical Director (chris.gough@tech4tracing.org)

An advisory board composed of professionals from the domains of artificial intelligence and new technology, humanitarian mine action, arms control and human rights provides additional guidance to T4T.
